JOB TITLE: Assistant Project Cost Manager (Mission Critical Construction)

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Cost Manager will be responsible for supporting the Cost Manager in overseeing and managing various phases of construction projects, including cost tracking, budget analysis, and vendor coordination. This role will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and craftspeople to ensure accurate cost reporting and management. The Assistant Cost Manager will work on-site in Sunnyvale, CA, contributing to a large semiconductor manufacturing project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, set up, and maintain job cost reports, including budgets, commitments, forecasts, and expenditures.
- Track project costs by bid package, field orders, and specific change categories as required by the client.
- Set up and maintain project indicators, track equipment/material vendors, and validate cost proposals.
- Reconcile monthly project cost reports.
- Interpret design and construction documents to quantify materials needed for the project.
- Perform quantity take-offs and summarize material quantities.
- Prepare and manage cost authorization packages and ensure timely approvals.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure accurate reporting and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of estimating and/or project management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general network knowledge.
- Experience with project management software (Prolog, Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6) and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
- Familiarity with CSI specification system for construction and quantity take-off methods.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with trade and craft personnel and manage field conditions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working on industrial or hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing projects.
- LEED accreditation or ability to obtain certification within 18-24 months.
- Ability to interpret and organize technical data in an orderly fashion.
- Familiarity with field personnel management.
- Ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments, at all levels of leadership.
BENEFITS & COMPENSATION
As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental and vision, and the company matching 401K plan, subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. Compensation for this position is $97,000 - $130,000 per year, based on experience, background, and skills.ABOUT IPARAMETRICS
