JOB DESCRIPTION
iParametrics is partnering with a leading engineering, procurement, and construction company to support three large projects under the test operations and sustainability program for the Department of Defense at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, TN. (Tullahoma is southeast of Nashville.) We are seeking a skilled Cost Engineers to join our team.
The Cost Engineer ensures effective cost management and forecasting for large-scale projects, integrating advanced tools and methodologies to track project budgets, performance, and variances. This role is pivotal in maintaining alignment between project schedules, costs, and performance measurement baselines. The Cost Engineer collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide accurate reporting, change control management, and actionable insights that support project success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Integrate project cost management systems with scheduling tools, such as Oracle Primavera P6.
- Manage and analyze project costs, including budgeting, forecasting, performance measurement, and variance analysis.
- Develop and oversee the Estimate to Complete (ETC) process and validate the Estimate at Complete (EAC) within cost management systems.
- Ensure Earned Value Management System (EVMS) compliance, including baseline development, change control, and performance measurement processes.
- Prepare, review, and deliver performance reports, including variance analyses and monthly deliverables, such as Format 1-5 reports.
- Maintain and update the performance measurement baseline, integrating schedule status, forecasts, and actuals from accounting systems.
- Lead the implementation of cost baseline changes and ensure data quality through effective quality assurance processes.
- Continuously evaluate the efficiency of existing EVMS implementations and recommend improvements to enhance project cost management.
- Communicate cost-related insights and recommendations to multidisciplinary teams, leveraging negotiation skills to influence outcomes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Per the Department of Energy, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, construction management, finance, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 25 years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or related roles on large-scale projects.
- Proficiency with cost and scheduling tools, including Deltek Cobra and Oracle Primavera P6.
- In-depth knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) principles, processes, and tools.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in variance analysis and cost forecasting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with project teams and stakeholders effectively.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working on large-scale government or industrial projects.
- Leadership experience managing cost engineering or project controls teams.
- Familiarity with EVMS implementation and compliance standards for government projects.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.
BENEFITS & COMPENSATION
As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance, company matching 401K plan, and PTO. All benefits are subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. This is an exempt position with an annual salary of $145,000 to $162,000 based on experience, background, and skills.
PROJECT LOCATION & PER DIEMS
Arnold Air Force Base is approximately one hour southeast of suburban Nashville, TN. All candidates should expect to be on site at the project for its duration of approximately two years. Per diems and rotations will not be provided. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
